Driver Orientation
Orientation is a minimum of 2 and up to 3 days for all divisions.

During orientation you will be scheduled for a DOT physical and a DOT drug test.

We go over policies and procedures including a presentation that will give you an idea about the heritage and progress of Gypsum Express. You will also see a power point presentation to help you understand how some of the operation works.

Orientation is another tool we use to get you familiarized with your new employer and furnish you with the tools you need to start on a long and rewarding career with Gypsum Express.

For drivers living more than 50 miles from the terminal, lodging will be provided Sunday, Monday and Tuesday nights if applicable.

Drivers should plan to bring enough clothes, beddings and personal items for several days. All load securing tools and equipment are provided at no cost.

Drivers should bring a voided check to orientation as all Gypsum Express employees are Direct Deposit. (Checks are mailed home for the first 2 to 3 weeks until the deposit is established with the driver's bank.)

In orientation drivers will view videos on company polices and procedures and listen to speakers talking about their departments. Also for our flatbed division drivers will have hands on training. Drivers in our flatbed division with a New York State license are required by law to have a coil endorsement issued by the state of New York. Should a driver not have this endorsement the company will assist drivers with training and pay for the endorsement.
